Return to the University Policy
Purpose
Students who have been separated from the university must re-enter under different requirements and processes based on the length of time since their separation, their program degree status, and their academic standing status.

All degree, certificate, and non-degree students at the university.
Policy
Degree and certificate-seeking students with one full year (three consecutive terms) without any transcriptable academic activity will need to reapply to the university to continue their studies. Non-degree students with two consecutive terms without any transcriptable academic activity will need to reapply to the university to continue their studies. Any student not in good academic standing at the time of their separation will need to apply for readmission.

Procedure
Reentry for Degree and Certificate Students in Good Academic Standing
Degree and certificate students in good academic standing who plan to return to the university within 3 terms of withdrawing should contact the Registrar’s Office before the term of re-entry to be reactivated. Students who have withdrawn from the university will be considered eligible to continue study only when they have paid any outstanding tuition and fees and resolved any holds on their account. They will return under the same University Catalog in which they were initially admitted.

Readmission for Degree and Certificate Students in Good Academic Standing
Degree and certificate students in good academic standing who plan to return to the university more than 3 terms after withdrawing should contact the Admissions Office to apply for readmission to the University. Students will be placed in the University Catalog current at the time of readmission and will be required to meet any new or updated program requirements.
Readmission for Non-degree Students in Good Academic Standing
Non-degree students in good academic standing who plan to return to the university more than 2 terms after withdrawing should contact the Admissions Office to apply for readmission to the University. Students will be placed in the University Catalog current at the time of readmission and will be required to meet any new or updated program requirements.
Readmission at any point after Withdrawal or Dismissal for Students on Academic Warning, Academic Probation, or Academic Dismissal
Any student not in good academic standing at the time they withdrew or were dismissed from the university will be required to apply for readmission whether to the same or a new program. The application for readmission should be directed to the Office of Admissions, including an essay addressing how the student has resolved past challenges and how they plan to be successful in the future. Transcripts will be required for additional coursework taken during the withdrawal period. The Dean may request additional information for consideration before rendering a readmission decision. Additional stipulations and conditions may be added at the Dean’s discretion. No assurance of readmission can be given. Students who have been academically dismissed are not eligible to apply for readmission to the same program for one calendar year following the date of dismissal.
