DACL8300 Doctoral Seminar 3
This is the third of four doctoral seminar courses. This course provides an in-depth look at the United States
health care system, and the emerging models of integrative medicine. Focus will be placed on the role of
Chinese Medicine in the United States with emphasis on barriers to access and reimbursement. Students will
critically analyze the role of Chinese Medicine in other health care systems (i.e. socialized medicine, universal
health care). In this course, students will formally declare their "capstone project" topic and provide a relevant
literature search for review and approval.
