Program Learning Outcomes

In addition to meeting the University Learning Outcomes, a graduate of the Master of Health Science in Applied Clinical Nutrition program at NWHSU will be proficient in the following areas 

1. Nutrition Assessment and Planning

Students will be able to perform a complete nutrition assessment and provide nutrition recommendations as allowed within their scope of practice based on current evidence-based, peer-reviewed and published scientific nutrition research.

2. Evidence-Based Nutrition Management

Students will critically appraise current evidence-based, peer-reviewed, published scientific nutrition research and apply this information to the practice of applied clinical nutrition as allowed within their scope of practice.

3. Professional Communication

Students will demonstrate professional written and oral communication skills as appropriate to the practice of applied clinical nutrition as allowed within their scope of practice.

4. Professional Scholarship and Life-Long Learning

Students will understand the value of professional development and the role of life-long learning based on current evidence-based, peer-reviewed and published scientific research in applied clinical nutrition.
