Certificate in Therapeutic Massage

Curriculum Overview

The Therapeutic Massage Certificate prepares graduates to work effectively in clinical environments (e.g., hospitals, medical clinics, sports rehab centers, etc.) providing relief from pain and other symptoms of conditions such as sciatica, tendonitis, headache, and back pain. Courses build on relaxation massage approaches with clinically focused massage techniques.  Clinical rotations in the community with University partners provide the opportunity to work with various special populations.

Graduation Requirements

The Certificate in Therapeutic Massage Therapy is granted to those candidates who have:

1. Completed the required curriculum.
2. Completed the required 45 total credits.
3. Demonstrated competency in clinic and completed internship and field experience requirements;
4. Successfully passed the written Comprehensive Exam;
5. Earned a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or better;
6. Fulfilled all financial obligations to the University;
7. Current First Aid and CPR certification.
