Observation Hours Required
As part of the requirements of the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (ACACM), all students must complete a total of 150 hours of clinical observation.

Approximately 90 hours of clinic observation will be offered as part of the scheduled classroom curriculum in trimesters 1 and 2.
Thereafter, it is the responsibility of students to schedule the remaining 60 hours of clinical observation in NWHSU onsite or approved offsite clinics during trimesters 3 and 4.
BEFORE you can Intern in trimester 5:
- You must complete 150 hours of observation, including
- a minimum of 8 hours of observation in UHS
- a minimum of 8 hours of observation in NHC-B Student interns
Students are required to complete 150 hours of observation, as well as coursework in HIPAA, OSHA, CPR/ BLS prior to beginning internship in T5. Documentation of completion must be given to the Registrar’s office prior to registering for T5 internships. All observation hours must be completed prior to entering the clinic as an intern in T-5.
