MTEL-1240 TRAUMA INFORMED HEALTH CARE

This course will educate practitioners of all disciplines about how and why trauma gets held in the physical body. Students will gain general knowledge of the psychological, emotional, and physical manifestations of unresolved trauma. Whether trauma is the result of some form of abuse or a physical injury, students will be able to recognize how it presents and what a practitioner can do to help those who are affected. Students will be able to evaluate what the signs and symptoms of trauma are, and what is the best way to address these issues without going beyond scope of practice.
