MLS-4150 ADVANCED PARASITOLOGY, MYCOLOGY & VIROLOGY
Topics examined include principles and practices of mycology and parasitology. A brief overview of virology will be included as well. Principles of host defense and microbial virulence will be explored as well as clinical presentation, signs and symptoms, laboratory diagnosis, and treatment options. Infection control procedures, epidemiology, new and emerging infections and other Public Health issues are examined. Laboratory exercises designed to support the lecture content will be incorporated.
