SPA-1000 SPANISH FOR HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

This course is designed for students who are interested learning how to communicate in Spanish at an introductory level in a health care setting. Some of these tasks include greeting patients, taking a health history, assessing stated symptoms, explaining treatments, and making appointments. In addition to Spanish communication, there is an overarching theme of understanding cultural norms and practices of the Hispanic/Latino community that is embedded into the entire course. No previous experience with Spanish is required. This course is considered a Communications General Education course.
