MTSU-1160 SHIATSU TECHNIQUES AND APPLICATIONS 1
In this course students learn to treat energetic imbalances of the Zang-Fu Organs, Qi and Blood, Yin and Yang, and Pathogenic Factors utilizing a system of technique applications based on Dr. DoAnn T. Kaneko’s “Rules of Thumb” and the Eight Principle model of disease. Students practice assessing patterns of disharmony of the Zang-Fu Organs, Qi and Blood, Yin and Yang and Pathogenic Factors, and implementing treatment protocols that include technique applications, specific points and channels and abdominal work. Students also learn a variety of additional Shiatsu techniques to treat musculoskeletal and channel conditions including advanced pressure techniques, Ota school Ampuku, Namikoshi pressure, and Kawaguchi technique. Breathing meditations and Qigong exercises begin each class.
