Mission Statement and Program Goals

Radiologic Science Programs Mission Statement:

The mission of the programs is to provide the medical community with entry-level radiologic sciences professionals by providing them with knowledge, technical skills, a broad-based general education and an understanding of compassion for patients and their families.

 

Radiation Therapy Program Goals:

 

  1. All graduates of the Radiation Therapy Program will possess the knowledge and skills to competently and safely perform the essential entry-level radiation therapy procedures and patient care.
  2. All graduates of the Radiation Therapy Program will have developed skills in critical thinking and adaptability to non-routine situations.
  3. All graduates will have developed skills for effective communication.
  4. All graduates of the Radiation Therapy Program will demonstrate interpersonal effectiveness, professionalism, and the ability to provide quality patient care to a diverse population.

The Radiation Therapy Program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology, 20N. Wacker Drive, Suite 900, Chicago, IL 60606- 2901. Students can review the Standards that the JRCERT requires the program to be in compliance with to maintain accreditation by accessing the JRCERT website at www.JRCERT.org or by asking the Program Chair to view them. Program Effectiveness Data is published on the JRCERT web site. In addition, if there are any concerns or complaints regarding these standards or the program compliance with these standards, the JRCERT can be contacted at 312-704-5300 or through the Program Director.

 


Radiologic Technology Program Goals:

 

  1. All graduates of the Radiologic Technology Program will have developed skills for effective communication.
  2. All graduates of the Radiologic Technology Program will have developed skills in critical thinking and adaptability to non-routine situations.
  3. All graduates of the Radiologic Technology Program will possess the knowledge and skills to competently, and safely perform the essential entry-level radiography procedures and patient care.
  4. All graduates of the Radiologic Technology Program will demonstrate interpersonal effectiveness, professionalism, and the ability to provide quality patient care to a diverse population.
