Welcome
The faculty of Northwestern Health Sciences University welcomes you to the beginning of your Radiologic Sciences Career.
This handbook defines the standards of achievement and behavior that are essential to the radiologic sciences profession. It clearly states the specific responsibilities of students and staff in both academic and nonacademic matters.
We are dedicated to teaching the professional knowledge and skills so that you will be able to achieve your new career goal as a radiologic technologist or radiation therapist. We expect and require your dedication as well. The course content of the radiologic sciences is extensive and difficult. As a student, commitment and dedication is necessary to become familiar with the concepts and skills necessary to succeed in the classroom and in your new profession.
We understand that many students must work while attending school. However, work schedules must allow for class and clinical training attendance. In addition, students who are committed to becoming knowledgeable, professional radiologic professionals and who expect to complete the Radiologic Technology or Radiation Therapy Program’s academic and clinical requirements must consider plans to cover expected and unexpected personal events that could affect the realization of those goals.
This handbook is not a substitute for the Northwestern Health Sciences University Academic Catalog, but it provides specific information and references to the Radiologic Sciences programs. You are responsible for reading and understanding all of its contents. The Radiologic Sciences faculty and staff are willing to answer any questions that you may have.
We wish you success on your journey through your education.
Sincerely,
