E-Folio Project and Case Study
- The Efolio Project is a requirement of graduation and components may be individually grades as part of the student’s clinical education grade.
- A grade of 78% or better must be obtained on the Efolio Project in order for the student to successfully complete that requirement.
- The Efolio Project MUST be submitted to the CC by the end of the 8th month of Clinical Education so that it may be evaluated. Failure to turn the Efolio Project on time may result in a “zero” and failure to graduate.
- If the student does not receive a passing grade on the Efolio Project he/she/they MUST redo it in order to graduate from the Radiation Therapy Program.
Introduction and Hypothesis (32 pts.)
PO: 4.2 CO: 6
1st Written Submission Directions:
Decide on a research topic (pick a patient to follow). You did (or will do) this by end of month 4.
Write an introduction to your scholarly paper. This will include:
- Identifying the research topic (patient) along with demographics and other pertinent information.
- Explanation of how or why the topic is relevant to radiation oncology and who would be interested (the audience).
- Identifying the hypothesis - the problem or issue leading to the study and the questions you want to answer. (ex. If this is a less common type of cancer, does it affect certain ethic groups disproportionately? What is your hypothesized treatment outcome for this patient?)
- Explanation of the prediction of what your research will demonstrate.
Each section of your paper should be written in a clear, concise, and organized manner, displaying accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation. This portion of your paper should be 1 page, double-spaced, using APA or AMA style writing. A title page needs be included as well (APA or AMA style).

CO: 3,4,5
Assignment 2 Directions:
Begin a search on your topic. Information regarding qualitative and quantitative research methods are explained and may assist you in understanding the reports or articles you will find. Remember to use NWHSU’s eLibrary resources as a source to find scholarly, credible articles or studies.
Keep in mind, a literature review is your search on already published pieces of work surrounding your topic (patient’s disease). You are simply determining what research has already been done so as not to replicate previously accepted outcomes. You will also take bits and pieces of information from these sources to support your own thinking on the topic.
Write one page about literature reviews. This will include:
- Description/definition of what a literature review is.
- Explaining what research studies you will search for and how they may relate to or support your hypothesis
- Locating 2 scholarly studies/clinical trials relevant to the topic or hypothesis and explain the benefit of the findings related to the hypothesis.
- Explaining if the findings were subjective (opinion) or objective (numbers) or both. Reminder: Each portion of your paper should be written in a clear, concise, and organized manner, displaying accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation. This portion of your paper should be 1 page, double-spaced, using APA or AMA style writing.
