Professional Behavior
- Appropriate professional behaviors are expected. An important aspect of any professional educational curriculum is the development of professional behavior and role identity.
- Failure to demonstrate professional behavior and communication will result in disciplinary action; which may include an improvement plan, dismissal from clinical site and/or program. Procedure for disciplinary action:
- Upon notification from the clinical training site regarding unprofessional behavior a clinical site visit will be conducted by the clinical coordinator to address the issue at hand. Based on the site visit and investigation the disciplinary action could include but is not limited to; removal from the clinical site, student subject to the disciplinary process as outlined in the NWHSU student handbook.
- If a second offense of unprofessional behavior occurs, the student will immediately be called to a meeting on campus to discuss the issues surrounding the infractions. For further clarification of the campus disciplinary policy, please refer to the Northwestern Health Sciences University student handbook.
- Third Strike policy regarding unprofessional conduct. In the event of a third instance of unprofessional conduct, the student will be referred to the Behavioral Standards Committee for recommendation of dismissal from the Radiologic Technology Program and grade of F for term.
- Three professional behaviors are identified. Each is clarified with a list of supporting behaviors. Each student should strive to model these behaviors as a mode to ensure quality patient care and growth of the profession. This list is not intended to be all-inclusive.
