Removal from the Clinical Site

  • In the event a student is removed from a clinical training site, the student will leave the site immediately.
  • Students are not to return to the clinical site or contact the clinical site without permission of program faculty.
  • Program faculty will determine through interviews of the clinical site and student the appropriate actions necessary which may include but are not limited to actions listed below
  • If a student is removed from the clinical site, a failing grade will be given for clinical training.
  • The Radiologic Technology Program is under no obligation to provide students a clinical site following removal from the clinical affiliate.
  • Examples of behaviors warranting an immediate removal from the clinical training site are listed below. This list is not meant to be all inclusive.
    • Dishonesty; i.e.: lying, forgery, cheating, blaming others for one’s own wrongdoing.
    • Attending clinical training under the influence of drugs or alcohol,
    • Endangerment of a patient, fellow student, member of the healthcare team or clinical site staff.
    • A student may be removed from the clinical site/program if they failed to protect patient rights and safety, are unable to satisfactorily complete program requirements in a one-year period, had one significant incidence of unethical behavior, more than two incidences of noncompliance with professional standards of ethics or behavioral misconduct, or is unable to satisfactorily complete clinical requirements after the remediation period as would be specified through the Disciplinary process outlined in the NWHSU student handbook.
