Shift Rotations

  • All students may be assigned to day, evening, late night, or weekend shifts as long as proper supervision is maintained; equitable rotation schedules, in cases of multiple students, is provided and appropriate variety of radiographic examinations are observed.
  • Daily clinical time should not exceed 10 hours
  • Clinical time may not exceed 37 hours per week.
  • Clinical time in excess of 37 hours will not be counted towards the overall clinical time.
  • Exception: Students who are making up missed time may exceed 40 hours. Students approved to do so by clinical site and program chair.
  • Non-Traditional hours: Regarding evening and weekend clinical assignments: a maximum of 25% of the student’s total clinical clock hours may be spent in evening and weekend assignments. Students will not work more than 277.50 hours of weekend or evening clinical time. To assure compliance, student’s nontraditional clinical time will be recorded on the time sheet and monitored by the RT Program Clinical Coordinator.
  • Students are not allowed to work on-call that would cause them to go over their weekly total hours.
  • Any unassigned clinical hours will not be counted towards overall clinical time.
  • The clinical instructor must approve all schedule changes in advance.
